Finally got him to go to sleep and stop playing around, but now I can't sleep anymore due to the horrible stench of skunk everywhere in the house (ran around at 3 am shutting all the windows, but alas it was too late), and poor Sean just got home a couple hours ago from his business trip with a cold that leaves him snoring so loud I can hear him down two flights of stairs.
I've given up on ever sleeping again. The past three nights have been the worst ever for sleep. Three nights ago I was up every 20 to 40 minutes, the entire night. Insane! Worse than having a newborn. I think it may be due to this learning to maneuver around in his crib, but who knows really.
I've also discovered that being overweight isn't just for appearances! It messes you up for heat as well. It was a nice day today and is still nearly 24 degrees in the house (and of course don't forget I had to shut all the windows, so no breeze anymore) so I've been sweating it up. I'm not used to this. I spent 38 years being skinny and constantly cold. Now I get so hot that the fat of my thighs touching each other is irritating. I started the P90X exercises two nights ago, that's how bad things have gotten. They aren't SO bad that I have cut out eating junk food though. That would be extreme.
I went out for dinner with my friend Lori tonight and Calvin was such a good boy. It was very hot in the restaurant and a bit slow, and he was so patient right up til nearly the very end. I had him on my lap when he started to get frustrated near the end and Lori was making funny faces at him and getting him to smile. She was playing a game where she would run her hands across the table to reach for his hands, then pull her hands back. This, for some reason, had him in stitches. Giggling and laughing out loud. I was a bit jealous. I rarely get him to laugh out loud and when I do it takes a lot of work. I was so happy though to see him smiling and laughing at something. A baby enjoying something is true joy and makes your heart melt.
