He found his toes during a diaper change last week and it was so cute I think I took fifty pictures of it. It rapidly changed from cute to 'stop grabbing your toes, I'm trying to change your diaper!'. It is still cute and I smile, but rolling over and grabbing toes does cause diaper changes to be more difficult.
We had our four month well-baby doctor check up and all is good. I was (and am) still sick so I got a quick check up as well. Calvin is doing wonderful - no more growth in length this month (holding at 25.5 inches) but he did grow in weight. Two pounds in four weeks (while we were both sick no less). He now weighs 15 pounds. We are still squeezing into some of the 3-6 month clothes, but have moved in to a lot of the 6-9 month stuff already. He is at that awkward stage of one size being too small and the other too large.
Being sick has been a bit of a help for me in my weight loss. I am down eight pounds, with another 25 to go. Ha. I'm starting to feel better (only have sinus infection and small chest cold now) so my appetite is coming back. I imagine there will be some weight coming back along with that appetite. Just for the record - having a baby ruins your body. Accept it before having the baby and life will be much less stressful for you. There should be no symptom books for pregnancy and first year, just a big note on each page that says 'your baby ruined your body'. You look up a symptom in the glossary and you get the same response every time. Heh. So true that no one even bothers crying over it anymore. That is why babies are so cute - to help you forget the rest of nastiness. Little bundles of cuteness and love make it all worth while.
We went to see Grandma and Grandpa for Easter/my birthday and it was a great visit. Saw our cousin Matty for the first time in four months. He's a busy guy so sadly we didn't get to visit with my brother very much, but come summer when we can set the kids free in the backyard I hope we will see more of him again. Grandma and Grandpa said an Easter bunny came to the house (I highly suspect though that THEY are the Easter bunny...don't tell anyone) and we were very lucky to get an awesome new tummy time mat, my favourite soft blocks and two easy to hold and cool teethers! Spoiled baby. He loves it all and we have fun playing with our new toys. Thank you Grandma and Grandpa!
