We all came down with a cold for the past 4 days, and this was the worst one he's had yet. He had a fever and I was dosing him with baby tylenol for almost three days. He passed quickly through it though and has dealt well with the snotty left-overs. While cleaning up his runny gross nose today (against his will), I noticed that his top two front teeth are coming in! It nearly made me cry of course, because my little baby is growing up.
He's also started trying to walk. It's killing me I tell you! I want him to sit down and stop growing up for a bit. It all needs to slow down. Before you know it he will be one. Then he'll be talking. Then we'll be taking him to school. I just can't handle this! (Cue weeping first time mother). I am so proud of him though. He's cruising along furniture (and people) really well, and occasionally will stand with one hand barely holding on to someone and basically balance himself. He walks super fast with someone holding his hands. I am afraid it's only a matter of time, and not long at that, before he figures out how to walk. I had hoped that walking would be a ways off yet, since often a good crawler won't bother with learning to walk early. Seems he likes to master all things though, and he's already well on his way.
I've been a slacker with uploading photos, because it's time consuming and frankly my list of things I want to do in a day is 100 times longer than the 2 things I can get done in a day. So, I keep posting videos because I can do it while I'm right there with baby and it's no effort at all. Please see the link on the right to visit our YouTube Videos page if you are so inclined.
Calvin has shown a serious interest in books lately, and I'm very pleased. We've read 'Can Roosters Sign in Tune' so many times I want to stab my eyes out, but he loves it. Repetition helps learning and he brings me the book constantly to read. We've planned a mini-family vacation for the end of October, and I'm hoping I'll find some great deals on board books at the outlet malls in the States.
Thanksgiving is coming up and we can't wait to visit with all the family members again. We had a great double visit with Grandpa Campbell for his birthday this month, and hope we can do it all again with Thanksgiving. Cousin Matty is so gentle and kind to Calvin it is beautiful to see and we really enjoyed the visiting. With any luck we'll be able to see Aunt Kathy soon too! Everyone get out your calendars, we are getting all our visits in with everyone before Christmas.
