Fast forward to today, where he's asking me if I have indeed put it on the blog. Well, shamefaced I am now, because after adamantly swearing I did put that info up, I don't see it anywhere. Dad, you were right, I was wrong! Now it's in writing for the world to see that a man was correct and a woman wrong. (I'm blaming pregnancy brain on this one).
We did indeed pick up the furniture, and it's still sitting in the garage waiting for us to complete baby's room so we can set it up. Thank you Grandma and Grandpa for our lovely bedroom set. This past weekend Rob came down (again...so many times now I've lost count - thank you Rob and Lori!) and we made great progress in the sunken living room library shelving project. There is still another full day of work to finish that room, but the end is in sight. Turns out the fumes of paint are a bit much for me now, so at Rob's urging, we'd decided to wait to stain all the shelving until next spring.
Today we're trying to finish painting the baby room, so that next weekend (I hope) the floor can go in. After all that exhausting work...we can put the furniture together and I can start moving goodies into the baby room.
We went to visit the Newark family on Sunday for Thanksgiving, and were spoiled by Sean's Mom with baby presents. Soft blankets, a piggy bank, a picture frame, a three-stage head snuggly, and even her friend Shirley (who has never met us) sent a blue snowsuit for newborns and hand knit us a lovely blue baby blanket.
This is one spoiled little guy already. So many people have been just as excited as us, and are filling us up with goodies. It's been amazing and I've been in humbled awe for months now.
