In my early morning panic over the pink surprise I called our doula, Charity. She really is making this whole process easier and we haven't even gone into the labour and delivery room yet. Charity gave me the low down on what is happening and why, and is really encouraged by my frequent contractions for the past couple days (a lot today during the day again) and how low the baby is (doc said again today how really really low he is), and Charity is hopeful that all this will ease me into a labour less intense than most. No guarantees of course.
We will keep everyone posted. It's getting exciting!
I also keep forgetting to tell the doc that I think I have a UTI again. I told her today and she wrote me a script for antibiotics without even doing a culture. Pretty cool, better safe than sorry. What confuses me though is that they do a urine test each visit. I assume they are doing a Chem-strip, but never actually asked at the OB office. I just bought a pack of them to test our dogs (who have infections right now poor babies) so came home and peed on a stick myself. I can't believe how much blood is in my urine! If the OB office is doing chem-strips then shame of them for not catching this earlier. I'm glad I pushed the issue and am on antibiotics now, rather than having waited til things got really bad. Also very glad for friends who are vets that can order this kind of stuff for me - thanks to Cynthia for that!
