It's now nearly 7 am. These pains suck. I distracted myself for a couple hours by wrapping Christmas presents, since I had planned on doing that today. Tried to go back to sleep for a while but it isn't working and the pains are making me shaky inside and a cry baby on the outside, so I got up. I'm waiting until 7:30 before I call Charity to find out if this is serious business labour or if this is the kind of suffering you get to go through for a couple days before the baby is born. Regardless - the pain is substantial enough that this means we aren't waiting two weeks anymore. It is hours or days at the max because I can not handle this for more than a couple days. Maybe not even that long. Baby moves a lot in between each round of pain, which is unusual for him - he's a quiet baby. Something is definitely going on. I wish I knew what was 'normal' for me, then I could relax a bit.
darling!! I'm so glad i got to chat with you a day or so ago - forgot that your blog isn't bookmarked on the laptop we took to Cancun so I didn't get to read all the updates until now - wow wow wow - looks like you're close hope Calvin comes soon to meet everyone - hope your delivery goes smoothly and Merry Christmas to you and Sean. Calvin would be a great Christmast present.
Also, how great is it that your mom-in-law can come and help? that's awesome!

Baby Newark
Baby Newark has arrived! His name is Calvin and he was born at 39 weeks (slightly earlier than the 41 weeks I was guessing), on December 24th. He weighed 7 pounds 2 ounces and was 22 inches long. His eyes were slate blue to start with, and have turned into a true grey.
