So far our trial time of having Calvin sleep in his own bed has been a 50/50 draw. Half the nights are good, half the nights are bad. But last night! Oh sweet thing called sleep how I love thee. We all went to bed at 10:45 pm. I heard some cooing and awake baby noises on the monitor at 5:10 am. I could barely believe it! Sean heard the happy "I'm awake and playing by myself" noises too and asked what time he had gotten up in the night. I couldn't believe it when I was replying that THIS was the first time I had been up all night. What a good baby boy. He ate like he had not had a good meal in a year, then cooed and played by himself in bed again for about 20 minutes before falling back asleep. This, ladies and gentlemen, is what a dream baby is.
hey darling - glad the sleep experiment is working! We rec'd your card in the mail last night - we always get a chuckle (still) whenever we get something addressed to Mr. and Mrs. Slocum so thanks! glad we can be a part of your lives, even though we're so far away =) hugs and kisses! slowly but surely the weather is starting to get nicer down here, hopefully you'll be able to take your little muchkin outside with the doggies soon.

Baby Newark
Baby Newark has arrived! His name is Calvin and he was born at 39 weeks (slightly earlier than the 41 weeks I was guessing), on December 24th. He weighed 7 pounds 2 ounces and was 22 inches long. His eyes were slate blue to start with, and have turned into a true grey.
